Hi Everyone,
My DS will be attending CVW on Thursday and I have a few questions. Any suggestions on what to bring his Plebe? Any additional packing suggestions? My husband and I are looking forward to all of the parent seminars that will take place. Any dinner recommendations? We're only in Annapolis for 48 hours so looking for a few "must do" restaurants. Bring on the suggestions! Thanks! If any parents are also attending let us know.

Have breakfast at Chick and Ruth's Delly on Main St. At 8:30 the whole place stops, everybody stands up and recites the Pledge of Allegiance. It is really an experience (9:30 on weekends) and the wait staff all have personalities right out of sitcom central casting.

Honestly, dress like he would for school, polo and khakis. Do not wear: SEAL team or pilot gear or JROTC uniforms.

Take the plebe some pop tarts, cookies, something along those lines. Something they can share with their roommates.

Other than that, take what's on the list.

I took Rice Crispy treats they travel well. One of our favorites The Iron Rooster (Yummy) if you go to Chick and Ruth's get an Apple Fritter the best...

I just received an invitation to a CVW yesterday for April 14-16. When I submitted the form it says you will hear back in 10 days regarding an invitation or wait list. I received the invitation 2:00 PM on March 22, 2016 and submitted the form about 6 hours later. How soon does the CVW fill up?

For those of you attending CVW this week and have some time: Army v Navy Rugby at 12 noon, Saturday, March 26, at the Brigade Sports Complex. Elegant Violence at USNA ...

I picked up 9 people for CVW while picking up my sisters at BWI home from school-Exeter. Interesting conversations while driving to USNA. After dropping my sisters off, took some over to the Yard so that they could grab some lunch and others I took over to Iron Rooster (the wait was only 10 min ). I think that it was strange that while we are all are competition for getting a BFE, it was also a good feeling that if I should get the dreaded TWE, we have a lot of common bonds- talented academically, some physical prowess and a desire to serve. Had some time for a little Q and A at the house as we had one of our firsties over at the house(yes we are sponsors as well). Granted, they will have a lot of time for q/a with their plebe but they also got a glimpse of a sponsor family as well for what it is worth. For those of us still on this island or roller coaster, good luck and try to enjoy your Easter weekend stress free.. as if!
