Hey, after a brief initial search I couldn't find anything that gave much of a direct list of what to/what not to bring to a USNA CVW

I know I've seen a few scattered mentions (eg. is anything appreciated by mids, etc) but I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not a good list has been compiled?

If so, would you mind either giving the link, or just mentioning it? I'll be more than happy to bushwhack through the jungle of old posts, but just wanted to make sure it would be worth my while beforehand.

Thanks, hope to see some of you down at Annapolis this weekend!

Based on my son's experience last month, here's what I'd recommend:

For Thursday, son wore khakis/polo shirt/jacket on the plane and at the opening session. When they got to the plebe's rooms that night they changed into more casual clothes (Tshirts, shorts, jeans, etc.)

For Friday, he brought khakis/polo to wear, but his company said no-no-no, just wear jeans/polo, which he ended up doing. Son said this day was more casual. Some wore khakis, some even wore shorts/sweats, but many wore jeans and a nice shirt. I think you could bring both and play it by ear.

Saturday was casual - jeans again. He brought workout clothes, but didn't have the opportunity to use them. That morning they got up early and watched/cheered the upperclassmen doing some sort of required work out.

Since he just had a carryon and a backpack for the plane, he didn't have room to pack a sleeping bag. He brought a pillow and a fleece blanket which he said worked out fine. The cot they provided for him was really squeaky, so he up sleeping on the tile floor so as not to disturb his plebes all night! He said he was so tired that he slept like a rock anyway!

Son brought toiletries, money for food and the Midstore, and some cookies for his plebes. That's about it!

Thanks!

I appreciate both the personal response and the extensive discussion - I feel like I have a pretty good idea what to bring now!
