does anyone know if USNA is providing a free shuttle to BWI airport when we come back? I know they won't provide one to get there but what about at the end of the weekend? How will the people leaving by plane leave?

I understood that you had to arrange your own transportation to and fro. There is a shuttle that you can take from the airport to USNA and back, but you have to arrange the details.

cheaper than taxi? i thought the shuttle is like 17 dollars a person (or maybe its 35 i forget the details). Is that what you're talking about or are am I talking about taxi and the SuperShuttle is just something else?

More than likely you will meet several candidates attending that will need to get back to BWI. You can share a cab or Super Shuttle. That more you have, the cheaper it is.

We checked the cost of a taxi by himself and SuperShuttle was about half the cost. If you can get there at the same time as someone else (good luck), split the cab fare. They are right. But good luck figuring out who is headed to the academy.

nah, i just decided to take amtrak cuz of train that can bring me from corrollton station to a place half a mile away from the academy

?? There is no train from New Carrollton to Annapolis. There is very little scheduled public transit from Washington to Annapolis. There are a couple of commuter bus routes, but they don't have very friendly schedules, and they don't run on the weekends.

wait, i thought you can just take the New Carrollton Metro Shuttle Bus (I'm sorry not train) to West St and Calvert St and walk to the gate? please correct me if i'm wrong because this is my first time taking this route. And I looked at the bus schedules and it seems like the busses come pretty often as well (again please correct me if this is not what you experienced)

You are correct. I did not know they ran buses on weekends. My commute does not include public transit, so it only comes to my attention when there are news stories about cutting it.

Anyone want to split a cab, shuttle, or uber from BWI to USNA on Thursday, March 24 around 4:15 pm? And back on Saturday after CVW?

Hi all,

I **believe** you can log in to SuperShuttle, schedule a pickup and indicate that you would be willing to share a ride and enter all pertinent details. Last year, I believe my candidate was released early morning around 9 a.m. Therefore, if you were to schedule a pick up with them shortly thereafter you should be fine. However, I would highly recommend calling them and mention your interest in sharing a ride back to the airport. Good luck and ENJOY CVW! It was a tremendous experience for my candidate.

Another option is to arrive and/or depart from the BWI Airport Amtrak station. There is a free shuttle bus that runs between the airport terminals and the Amtrak station. If you can share a ride to/from the airport, then you can get to/from the BWI Amtrak station.
