I was just invited to the CVW at the end of January (I've already taken a look at the "what to bring" thread. However, I do have a very close friend from high school who is currently a plebe. I heard somewhere that either myself or my friend could put in a request to be matched up? Is that true or just a rumor?

    How?

How did you get an invite already? I just got off the phone with my regional director this morning. He said that invites would go out in early January and that I should call him then to make sure I get a spot.

My Ds went to CVW in Oct and had a friend from his HS who was a plebe. He contacted his admissions counselor listed on his application and asked if he could possibly request to be assigned to him. He was assigned to him immediately and they had a great time! Plebe was thrilled to "drag" my son since he got more liberty and specifically an overnight liberty. He ended up touring DC with us Saturday and spending the night in our hotel... Comfy bed and TV!

Yeah, call your admissions representative soon as possible. Also, for Tobes, Super Shuttle was great. $75 round-trip (that's with a little bit of a gratuity). Fantastic with speed.

We did the same last year - son requested a friend of his brother's and they told him it wasn't "guaranteed", but it ended up working out, although the plebe didn't know about it until literally the day before (officially, as opposed to through us).

For those attending CVW you might try Super Shuttle from BWI. About $35 for a one way but if you contact others for the same CVW going to CVW on that date it can be a lot cheaper. Returning you can get a full Van from Gate 1 if you coordinate the ride back on Saturday for a much cheaper price per person. Good Luck:thumb:

Hey 12fahanp, have you received an appointment yet? I'm also from CT and I'd definetly like to connect with some fellow Nutmeggers down there next year! :)
