Sure appreciate all the things I've learned on this Forum, including recommending the D&B to my son, who absolutely LOVES it. If they do go to a bowl, what is the D&B commitment? When does he have to be back? Am I stuck with the extra cost for changing the ticket? I waited to buy the ticket until after his final schedule came out, never thinking that he might have commitments during vacation time. Any info appreciated. Clueless:confused: C4C MoM

My son is in D&B and has been forwarding all the emails from D&B home with general info and it usually talks about them keeping the bowl dates open, etc. and now has the Independence Bowl (Shreveport, Dec 27) highlighted as the most probable. My son said they'd (D&B) make all the arrangements (and pay for!) the flights/lodging, etc. My son thought they'd definitely have to be there the day before until the day after the bowl but it might be an additional day, but the travel would come from wherever they were on leave. I don't know if there are any additional arrangements/options/discounts for family (I'd doubt it) so my husband booked his own hotel/rental car at this point and we're waiting for confirmation before booking air. If you are interested in attending, we're finding from this area (WI) at least, that air into Dallas (3 hours away) is less than half the cost of flying into Shreveport so he's planning on dealing with the drive down there.

Let us know if you hear anything differently. I booked my son's air to come home a long time ago and think since the dates aren't really near the bowl game that we'll be fine. I was concerned if it was the bowl possibly on Dec 30 (Poinsettia?) that they might just fly them back to USAFA and I'd be out the return flight but with this you should be fine on flights! Sounds like a fun opportunity for them! :thumb:

Thanks for the info:thumb:
Another question - will D&B also be going to the White House for picking up THE trophy? Wouldn't that be cool?

We already have THE trophy (if you were talking about the Commander in Chief's trophy). They had it on the staff tower at lunch, but the presentation was delayed until next week.

Later,

Brian
