Ah Mardi Gras! Been to four and have stories for each one. Parades, Beads and watching the front loaders clean Burbon street in the morning. Pat O'Brien's and Hurricanes:thumb:

I just got a shiver down my spine from the flashbacks.

There's just something special about Swedish Royalty.

Thank you Jcleppe for answering and putting this thread back on track. Exactly what I was wondering. What about staffers and aides though? Staffers and aides for everything right? They probably have staffers to plan pressers so wouldn't they be able to get covers and proper staging for the event.

Do you mean a Marine with an Umbrella which is against the regs?

No. Basically the question I had in post 1 . Eventually I may work in DC, but I have no experience to this point so I don't know anything.

Its not the Marine/umbrella I saw, I saw a really bad unprepared staff. Why not have it inside?

What is the job of a staffer or aide? Rather a military member, don't they have someone to watch the weather report for proper staging and hold umbrellas from rain, ice, and snow?

They have an entire communications shop to plan pressers, set up teleprompters, escort the press, etc etc etc. Why'd they do it in the rain? Good question. The White House, and DC in general, has PLENTY of options, including the briefing room.
