DD? DS?

Obviously I am extremely new to all this! I have a million stupid questions, but I decided to start with the most ridiculous...What do DS and DD stand for? Help me sleep at night by solving this mystery!

Dear Son or Dear Daugther or whatever you want the D to stand for, ie: Dearist, Darling, etc.
