Denied rotc, still have a chance?

Agreed. Here's a good prayer for patience: "God, please grant me patience ... Not the opportunity to be patient, but the actual patience."

NROTC can be much more competitive than USNA as there is no geographical component considered in the competition. That's why NROTC GPA and SAT/ACT stats are generally a bit higher than USNA.

Hi! I am currently in ROTC. I applied to USNA and ROTC last year and didn't get either. I was, however, able to participate in the college program at my current ROTC unit. College program is basically the same thing as scholarship ROTC, except you don't get paid. Coming into college, I didn't think I could do ROTC without a scholarship, but you definitely can!!! I was on college program for 3 months, then picked up a scholarship in December. So don't give up on ROTC even though you didn't get a scholarship. Also, i don't believe ROTC selection has any effect on USNA admissions. Keep your head up!
