DS just went to dentist to get radiograph done for R-Day. We found out that he has three(3) cavities. Will he be sent home from R-Day?

 Can the dentist not work him in since he has the deadline of R-Day? I would beg and plead!

Hopefully others will chime in but we took the Admissions Department at their word when they said all dental issues must be resolved by R-Day---it's in "Instructions for Candidates Offered Admission". Maybe someone else had this happen and can offer more advice or share their experience.

Same thing happened to me. I called the dental folks at West Point. So long as they are filled before he reports, he should be fine.

I included updated radiographs that show the fillings in my dental packet just in case. I also had my dentist write and date a note saying that all needed dental work was completed and there was no further treatment needed.

This is just my experience however. I recommend calling the DENTAC number listed in the dental cover sheet for absolute clarification.

Cavities are not a "disqualifying" event. We went back and forth on making a decision to have lower wisdom teeth taken out. We called Dentac and they said as long as they were not a current problem no big deal...my ds could have waited until later. Dentac recommended that he get it taken care while at home because of potential down time during plebe year is not good. My DS had them taken out last week...just for peace of mind.
