Does anyone know if I can go to Dentistry school after getting a commission through the AFROTC? Im going to try to get a pilot slot but if that doesn't work im planning on going to dentist school. I was just wondering how and if that is possible.

I have a neighbor that was the senior dentist at McDill AFB when he retired. If I see him I'll ask how hard it is to get into.

You will apply for an educational delay in the fall of your senior year. The Army provides education delays to those it thinks have a good shot at getting admission to MD, DDS, Vet, Chaplin programs and a couple of others. I think last year that 105 were granted. If you don't get the delay you are assigned to your branch (based on ROTC OML) as normal. If you get the delay and then don't get admitted or change your mind, then you also return to the branch you were assigned to in the fall.
