Direct Deposit

Does anyone know if you can use the Pentagon Federal Credit ATMs that are on campus if you have a USAA account? USAA website says you can use any ATM and they will reimburse usage fees up to $15 a month.

Yes, you can use any ATM.

Is the direct deposit form supposed to be mailed to the USMA treasurer?

No. I'm pretty sure the instructions say to bring with you on R-Day.

I'm so confused by this whole process. I understand to send in the $2000 deposit but we need to set up a bank account?

The direct deposit bank account is so your cadet pay can be deposited monthly. Monthly pay for the class of 2014 was $225 per month.
You do want to get paid don't you???:shake::yllol:

Other USAA benefits

We went with USAA for our 2014 son because of my parents' good experience with their car insurance. I've found the FedEx discount they offer to be useful-- shipped all son's ski gear from West Coast for $32 -- and their renter's insurance is worth looking into for cadet.

Is the direct deposit form supposed to be mailed to the USMA treasurer?

I'm currently a 2014 cadet and, though the instructions say otherwise, I was told that I should have mailed my form in.

After Beast, the plebes in my company all talked about getting paid for July (the first month of Beast), yet I had nothing in my account. So I went down to the finance office and they told me that I was supposed to mail AND bring my Direct Deposit form on R-Day (strangely, there was no station for turning in direct deposit forms, so I,as well as about two other New Cadets I can recall had to hold on to our forms during Beast). Ultimately, they paid me for the month in cash, but I think it was a lesson learned.

So my recommendation would be to mail the Direct Deposit form to the finance office AND bring a copy on R-Day, just to be safe.

I was wondering whether we were supposed to mail it in, bring it in or both. Thanks for your answer, it helped clear that up!

Pen fed very helpful

A big Thumbs Up to contacting Lorinda Lowe at WP-Pen Fed (above). She responded quickly to emails and straitened everthing out PDQ.

For those confused:
The two processes are totally separate and distinct:
1. The Pen Fed or USAA account is for his personal pay to go into
(not to mention the occasional bump-up from M and D!!)
2. The $2000 has to be sent directly to the WP Treasurer to cover
mandated cadet expenses.
