    Disney has military rates, and the Navy is getting rid of rates...

    We saw that the 2017 Salute rates were out the other day, and we had been waiting for them. We will be there in January for the Disney Marathons. Wife and son's GF are running the half-marathon, and both sons and our daughter are running the full marathon. We have reservations at Shades of Green and wanted to compare the Salute rates at the Disney hotels. Even with the 40% room discount SOG is a better deal. $129/night for a two-bedroom suite. We will, of course, still be using the Salute rates for the 5-day Park Hopper passes!

    Colonial Williamsburg offers Active Duty one free admission per year with three direct dependents. Retired and veterans get 50% off of their admission price and up to five direct dependents. Check out the Liberty Lounge.

    Any Busch Gardens allows one free admission per year for active military and up to three direct dependents and have had the program for years. There are some nice programs out there.

    For the record, Navy got rid of Ratings, not Rates.

    Do I understand it correctly:
    Rating= occupational speciality
    Rate= pay grade

    Without googling, I think it's like this...

    Rating: Operations Specialist (a job specialty)

    Rate: Chief Petty Officer (what most consider a rank)

    Paygrade: E-7
