Can anyone tell me what exactly diversity officers are used for? For example, do they look for people with different ethical backgrounds or what? And if so, will it work for the candidates benefit? I ask this because I am half-white and half-korean and want to do anything that will help for an admissions slot.

Sorry, the AFA is swimming in Asians of all sorts, and they tend to be fully qualified. Diversity from the AFA stand point seems focused on social-economics, and certain ethnic groups of which Asians are not specially considered.

Oh well that is fine. I should be fully qualified when it's all said and done. That just means I need to work harder than the rest.

I am the queen of mis-spelling and typos. That said, some are funnier than others! There are so many punchlines to that one. ^^^^^

Please know I mean no offense, just a giggle.

No worries. :thumb: Sorry about my poor use of grammar.

Seriously off topic but,,,
jT20, I have thought it would be hilarious to have a website of all the accidental texts and posts that fly through the net. As I said I am a very poor speller and now with auto-correct it is even worse. The words my device thinks I mean are usually even funnier. There is an excellent performance of a poem called the Impotence of Proofreading. Google it for a giggle. And do yourself a favor during your application process, have many people proofread all your essays. I used to have a boss that would correct my inter-office memos in red and send them back to me, how embarrassing! Spell check changed my life (a little). :thumb:

I will take your advice. Thank you for your criticism!

JT20,
My son was contacted by Admissions Dept of Diversity Recruiting. I called them to make sure there were no errors (my son is a caucasian). They explained to me that no error was made, but they had many qualifiers for diversity. It could be your state, familial status (single parent household, etc), socio-economic, ethnic background or other factors. So if you have been contacted by a diversity officer, just supply them with whatever info they request.
PS. Ethics are required by all!
