Hello everyone

This is my first post here and I have one small question! Do I seem like a good candidate? (By the way I saw the stickied posts too)

Here's what I have under my belt right now as freshman in high school:

-3.88 Unweighted GPA/4.13 Weighted GPA while taking hon. math, hon. history, hon. science, hon. english, spanish, cadd (computer development), p.e., and shop.
-Frosh basketball team captain
-Varsity soccer letter
-30+ hours of community service
-Student Council rep
-Debate club member, Global Network member (in-school volunteering), newspaper staff member, yearbook staff member

I plan on continuing to do all of these things as I progress through high school as well as do more things.

All insight would be greatly appreciated!

That's a good start assuming your a freshman or sophomore at this point. Keep doing the stuff mentioned in the stickies and on the USMA web site. AP courses. Atheletics. Leadership. Great SAT/ACT scores. Good luck! :thumb:

Looking good so far. Keep looking for leadership positions, join national honor society if your school offers that (a vast majority of accepted candidates are members of NHS), and study hard for the SAT. If you can afford it, I'd recommend getting an SAT tutor

Looking good so far! I'm a freshman girl hoping to get in too! You seem to have everything in line! Keep it up!

Three Pillars....

The Three Pillars of a well rounded candidate is Academics, Athletics, and Leadership. Keep progressing in these areas. You will need to take math courses all four years during high school. During your junior year attend Boy/Girls State, Eagle Scout Award/Gold Star Award.

ACT/SAT may have to be taken several times but you should focus on a 32/720 scores to be competitive.

Good Luck keep us informed!!
