DODMERB 3yr ROTC Scholarship

I went through the DoDMERB process in August (2011) when I applied for USMA. However I will most likely be using a 3yr ROTC scholarship. I know that 2011 exam is used to qualify me for the scholarship now. But I was wondering because that scholarship technically kicks in Sophomore year (2013), will I have to go through the DoDMerB process again?
 
My son is in the same situation. As it was explained to us, the DoDMERB physical is good for two years. We were told that as long as your contracting date for your 3AD is within that 2 year period, you are good to go. However, if it is not, you do have to complete a new physical.
 
that two years can be extended, and it wouldn't make sense to incurr the cost of another physical unless your medical status has changed over those two years. I think there is even a form to verify that the medical status hasn't changed so you can ask for an extension.
