My DS just received notice that he was awarded a 4 year scholarship, not in filling out the DoDMERB forms he needs to indicate at age 11 he had surgery to place titanium implants in his ankle to correct a flatfooddeformity. He initially wore orthotics but outgrew them years ago and has had no complications or problems. I have his entire medical record showing no issues from the orthopedic doctor that did the surgery showing the correction and complete resolution. What do we need to expect?

My guess is they will request extra documentation and possibly a formal recent orthopedics evaluation. Since you already have all the documentation you may be set.

Can you post an update once you hear back? I had a similar surgery and was wondering how your DODMERB results would be in preparation for when I apply.

Just to update- We just received notice of a remedial requesting his operative reports, last surgical notes, and copy of last x-ray and CT scan. We are waiting for the CT scan report. I will update you once we hear back from DoDMERB. I would suggest getting ALL the records I has everything except the CT Scan. Fingers crossed!

Well finally made it thru!! Got word today following remedial that my DS is qualified! The process took about one month. We had all of his records ready which helped speed things along. Good luck to everyone else.
