My son just received his pre-physical packet from DoDMERB instructing him to make appointments with the designated contractors and the paperwork he is to bring with him to the exam.

I was expecting the paperwork to include a form that gives DODMERB the ability to gain access to his medical records but there wasn't any such thing included. If I were the goverment, I would want to see this.

Q: When does the goverment typically ask to see his complete medical file?

Thanks,

FatherOfFive,

Once the physical examination is complete and sent to DoDMERB, the reviewers will review the physical to see if there are any items that need further clarification. At that time a letter will be sent to your son requesting copies of medical records, additional questionnaires for your son to fill out, new tests or a physicians evaluation. It could also be that there will be nothing on the physical exam that requires further evaluation and he could be found qualified right away.

DoDMERB does not gather the medical records, that is your sons responsibility to gather whatever medical records DoDMERB requests and submitting them to DoDMERB.
