You will get snail mail from DoDMERB. The mail tells all!! I know there is a piece regarding not wearing contacts prior to. It may be best to wait for that mail unless someone has some good hard info to pass on.

My DS just finished his eye exam yesterday. He does not have or need glasses so a little luck on that.

You can wear glasses, but Ex.BT is correct they will advise you to not wear contacts for several days prior.

As far as the physical exam goes, it really varies from doc to doc. Our DS had an exam from head to toe, and everything in between, to put it politely, yes...everything in between. It was @45-60 minutes. Others on this site had a 15 min. exam, breathe in, breathe out....okay button your shirt.

Prepare for an hr., consider yourself lucky if it is 15 mins. Nobody can tell you which way it will go.

Didn't want to start a new thread:

When will I get a letter from DoDMERB? Do they send them out to those who have already won scholarships, or those who are applying, or what? My interviewer told me to expect one in the mail but it didn't make much sense to me...

They'll send you a letter in the mail listing your selected commissioning sources and whether or not you are qualified.

For the ROTC programs, the standard procedure is to send them out to those who have already won scholarships. For the academies it's to those applying. I'm sure they wait until some level, or particular task, in the application is completed.
