DoDMERB Remedial Question

So I received a remedial status for a scoliosis study which I'll be going to this week. I'm not too concerned with this remedial as I've never had any problems with spine curvature in the past (and the physicians said they thought it was very minor as well).

However, I'm more concerned with the question: will DoDMERB prolong the process by issuing one remedial at a time for each issue or would all remedials have been issued at once? More concerning, will DoDMERB DQ for issues even after submitting requested information for a remedial status (specifically for a separate issue from the remedial status)?

If so then it doesn't make much sense why they wouldn't just outright DQ you for something that would be seen as an automatic DQ, and would wait for you to file paperwork on a non-issue instead. Any insight is appreciated.

Scoliosis is not an automatic DQ. The reason you are being sent for a remedial is because they want to know the degree of the curvature. It becomes a DQ when you pass a certain degree....I can't recall the actual degree, I think it is right @20. Hence why they will give a remedial first and than determine later on if your are DQd

There are posters that got their remedials and DQs all at once and there are posters that received it piece meal.

Thanks for the reply Pima!

I think I was more worried about a separate issue popping up (my eyesight in particular, since I have Amblyopia), but it didn't show up at all when they requested remedials. I just found that somewhat odd and was worried if they would just DQ me for that even after I passed the Scoliosis study.

Thanks again.

Beware if you want to go rated than your vision may become an issue for the flight class I physical.
