My DS is a second year applicant and last year was not issued a waiver. He received his TWE in the final week, what a rollercoaster last Spring was for us all. Anyway, I have read that they will not issue a waiver unless they are truly looking at/considering a candidate. Is this just wishful thinking? Also, he has a completed app with the exception of his first semester college transcripts which will probably not be received until January. Is it just sit an wait now, which we became VERY familiar with last year :(

He is one step closer with another hurdle out of the way. As you know there won't be any action from the academy until after he submits his first semester college transcript.

Are you sure they did not request a waiver? Waivers are case by case. They may have submitted a waiver, but he was denied due to his medical issues.

IE: certain medications have a timeframe that they must adhere to, thus last year they did not get a waiver, but this year because of the time that has passed he is now eligible.

He was granted a waiver. A very nice letter was received last week saying congratulations... He did not receive one last year. His status remained "Pending waiver request..." Needless to say last weeks letter from admissions was very well received :)

How soon after you received the letter did the DodMerb portal change to waiver granted or has it yet. Just curious. Looking for DS waiver and curious to see if will show up in Dodmerb portal first or if letter will come first from USNA.
