My 19 years of army service certainly prepared me for the complete bureaucracy of DoDMERB. My son was selected in the first round for a four year army ROTC scholarship at his school of choice. He was DQd due to an ACL injury in the fall. After many attempts on our part over the last seven months to initiate some type of movement on the waiver process, he finally gets a letter today, one week before school starts, telling him they will do a review of his medical record which will take up to 30 days to complete.

I have 19 years service and my wife 13 years. We tried to tell our son what a pain in the *** serving your country can be at times. Now he understands. I only wish the letter had been signed by an actual person as I would have made sure my sons response got back to them.
