Dodmerb website down

Thanks to Mr. Mullen's response. I echo beyond, we are VERY patient.... but would be very helpful to have an idea on when the site will come back up. We were advised by USNA today that they need to wait for DoDMERB site to come back up in order to download the records (from DoDMERB to USNA). There is nothing USNA can do, though we had sent a PDF copy of medical exam report to USNA.

If I knew for sure, I'd tell you. We want it back up MORE than the applicants. When it comes back up, I will post it here. I'm fully aware of all the implications and the personal stories....trust me. I apologize, but, that is not going to get it up any sooner.:thumb:

You say they are having problems sending it to USNA? What does that mean? Is there anything I can do to ensure that my exam was successfully recieved? I am also a USNA candidate, but not as lucky to know by appointment status. I sent in ia fax my scores last thursday, I believe the site was down then too. Will this interfere with them recieving my result???

Is there a projected date for the website to be fixed? A goal even?

DS sent in a remedial last week. Although he has been unable to check his status online, he received his medically qualified letter today:smile:. DoDMERB is still working hard for us. It is just the website that is down. I'm sure nobody wants it fixed more than they do.

Receiving a qualification letter is a good thing. Be sure to check with USAFA admissions after DODMERB site is back up and make sure USAFA is able to retrive your son's medical exam record from DODMERB, and most importantly, you can see it on the candidate portal. We received the letter several months ago but not knowing the record, sent to USNA (confirmed by DODMERB), but didn't get posted on the candidate portal. Good luck to you.

That is no longer the projected date. It will be fixed, when it is fixed. I may know more tomorrow.

aglages, if I may ask, how did you know that? Nothing negative (only positive) refected on Mr. Mullen, but a production site down for a week without kowing when it will com eback up, is a terrible thing. Checking on some of the forums' history, this had happened a few times in the past.

I recommend DodMERB establish a backup system or change management procedure to avoid this from happening. My 2 cents......

Agree with the above, production sites should never be down more than 24-48 hours. The entire ROTC experience is made a lot more frustrating by sub-par web sites and its just not DoDMERB.

Some of the comments in this thread are pushing the boundaries of the posting standards of the forum. It is one thing to be frustrated, but please keep the comments appropriate and constructive.

As a site administrator, believe me when I say these things happen and nobody is more interested in up time than those in charge.

Thank you for your time.

As a point of reference....has this site ever been down for more than 24-48 hours?

Thank you for your time.

Thanks for the candid comments, I don't think there is any "blame" here... We're making constructive feedback.... Don't know if the site has evern ben down for 24-48 hours.... but I suggest you Google "DODMERB site down", follow the links dated 6/14/2009 and 4/19/2008, all from this forum. You will see Larry has been there to "fill inthe gaps"....... Larry is just amazing... He even called me on a Saturday for an updates, etc.... going above and beyond.

DoDMERB will be closed on 28 Jan 2011. This is a necessary action to hopefully get the website back to normal operations on Mon 31 Jan. The initial return, may have some limitations, but we have the best and brightest working the issues. See the new thread regarding this closure under DoDMERB.

Thank you Tactical Nuke. There is NO ONE more frustrated than me. I don't work the 20% posters and 80% lurkers, 24/7/365, because I want to create obstacles. DoDMERB and our past performance is rock solid. There have been times we've been down before, just like places on the east coast are without power during these snow storms. There have been times when the electrons just didn't feel like working in harmony. But the speculation and suggestions above are not constructive, but are indicative of frustration. I couldn't agree more. That's why I made the decision to close shop tomorrow to let the technical IT folks do their magic.

So have a good weekend and lets hope that Monday brings better news. Thx:thumb:

Congrats Larry on getting the website up (hopefully) in only 12 days...even if it's functions are "limited".:thumb:
