I can't find any information on blood testing done by the CGA or DoDMERB prior to admission to the academy, but I would imagine that one's blood is tested. Am I correct? Not a problem for me medically- just emotionally, I have to pump myself up before having blood drawn because it freaks me out!

Thanks!

No blood drawn; unless this has changed since 09.
Only a small finger sample to test iron level for females (at least, that was our cadet's experience).

DoDMERB does NOT draw any blood:thumb:

I don't recall having my blood drawn as a part of the admissions physical through DoD, but it was taken over the swab summer medical screening during the first week of summer training.

Don't worry, the worst part of the DoDMERB exam was just waiting for the doc to fill out all the forms

Hi everyone,
DS DODMERB application information now states

Agency: US Coast Guard Academy
Current Medical Status: In Process (as of 01-DEC-10 )
Anyone have a clue what in Process means?

Thanks

Did he have his physical recently? My son's DoDMERB status was the same as yours right after the doctor submitted the physical results. After DoDMERB approved everything, the status changed to "Qualified."

The same happened with my DS:wink:

His physical was done months ago. Maybe his teacher finally got around to sending his information and now has a whole package.
