So I have a question regarding the Coast Guard's deadlines for the academy... I submitted my application during the early action pool and then transferred it over into the regular action pool. I have no heard anything back about DoDMERB or even a denial at this point. I'm assuming that at this point in time, I should be excepting bad news soon?

My best advice would be to contact your Admissions Officer directly with this question.

Log onto DoDMERB portal to check your file status. If you have been DoDMERB qualified, it will show up on portal as such. You should also receive a letter showing all SAs and ROTC programs for which you have been "Qualified."

I would think at this point, the simplest thing to do is to contact the DODMERB at Send all other inquiries to usaf.dodmerb.helpdesk@mail.mil. Inquire as to if you are in the system, if you are not, this means that you were not submitted to the DODMERB by the perspective service academy. This would in turn mean that it is too late to take any additional action regarding DODMERB submission, as the deadline was March 15. This is just a guess given your scenario.

Sorry. Misunderstood. Contacting DoDMERB is unlikely to help as the Academy must request a file review.

This is not directly related to the thread, but we show a second status letter on the DoD site issued today. There was never any question of his medical qualifying status the first time around; no waivers, etc. What does that mean? Is it related to the NROTC scholarship that my child received? Still waiting on the USNA, but got the first choice school with a four-year ROTC scholarship and found out last week.
Thanks

You can try the DoDMEDB wed site.
If you can log on you are active.
User name is SSN, password last names out will able to see your status
My son did not receive his notice by mail but was activated when he won a scholarship.
He was able to log on, then called Concorde and they verified that his file was active.

So our DD (who applied in Oct under Early Action) was Medically Disqualified (vision: cannot correct to 20/20...corrects to 20/25 with eyeglasses...within Waiver limits) and is Waitlisted.
1. So does this mean her Appointment depends on "the needs of the service"?
2. I'd like to know when "Medically Disqualified" switches over to "Medical Waiver Requested". Apparently, it's automatically done on her behalf....??

Yes, this stress is getting to us....I need feedback on this! Thanks!

Have DS check his NROTC portal to see if his medical status was updated. My DS got his scholarship March 10 and his portal now shows medically qualified.

DoD now showing medical status qualified for service academies and NROTC. Is it true that appointment to the academies will show up on DoD website before the appointment letter is received?

We have been logging into the DoD website; I was just wondering whether the DoD will have the appointment status updated there before we receive a letter or phone call. The NROTC scholarship was updated quickly.
