Does this count as a leadership role?

Howdy,
I'm currently a head guard at my neighbourhood pool I'm lifeguarding at.
The current assistant manager for my pool is leaving next month and I will get promoted to assistant manager.
Does it count as a leadership position? Can I put it on my USNA application as such?

What you do in a leadership position far outweighs any title. If, in your opinion, you think this should be considered a leadership position, then you should mark it as such. However, understand that you will have to explain why it is a leadership position at your BGO interview. Think what leadership means...is what you are doing (or going to be doing) meeting that definition/criteria? <-- Rhetorical question, you don't need to answer on the forum.
