Perhaps the only thing harder than getting an appointment to West Point is actually not accepting it?

DS accepted an appointment to the USCGA. His Principal Nomination will presumably be offered to the 1st alternate for VA-07.

I appreciate all the words of wisdom and various assistance offered on these forums. It's been a tremendous resource.

Good luck to all the candidates waiting for their share of good news.

As a mom of a son eagerly awaiting news in CT, thank you to you and your son for responding and declining the academy that was not his first choice. We appreciate any action that may shorten our wait and hope that others will do the same. Congrats and best of luck to your son in the future!

I am sure that was extremely tough decision, for both the candidate and his parents! If he followed his heart, and it sounds like he did, he will do well and be of great service to his nation. You must be very proud! Best of luck! :thumb:
