Am so excited my mom's friend's uncle (lol) showed me this site! Our daughter is our oldest child, so not only are we newbies to the Corp of Cadets @ A&M and the whole NROTC process, we are stumbling through the "first kiddo to go to college" experience. I am also looking forward to finding other parents of girls who are in the NROTC-Marine Option. I can find lots of "guy parents", but would love to talk to someone who has had or has a dtr walking this path. Thanks a ton!

Have a DS attending Texas A & M on an ROTC scholarship. We are so excited for him! Good luck to your daughter. He is our first also and coming in from out of state. Originally from Texas.. We are just happy hens back in the best state in the nation!

I am a female in the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M. Feel
Free to PM me with any questions you may have and I will answer to the best of my ability. I was in the NROTC program my fish year but recent changed to Army in pursuit of a scholarship.

Thank you for your kind menage. My DS has already moved to Texas in mid - June to get use to exercising in the heat. I think he is ready mentally and physically, I am just nervous about the actual transition from Fish Camp to FOW ... He is coming in on his own. He insists and is very independent and ready to go. Just as a parent it is difficult being so far away.

FOW starting tomorrow

I am sorry to be answering your note so late! It has been a whirlwind in my house. Please, if it helps at all, know I am only an hour and a half away in Austin. We have 3 other sons, so adding to the mix with yours would be no problem at all  My DD is in P-2. What unit is your son in?

He just got finished with Fish Camp. Re your other kids in the Corps?

Our DD is our oldest, so the 3 boys at home are younger (high school, middle school and one red headed 1st grader-lol). But, I know how to feed a crew and would gladly add him to the pack if he was needing a "home base" here in Texas.:thumb:

I think you are so kind. I truly appreciate your hospitality.
We have a lot of family in Texas but your kind words mean a lot. Where are you in Texas?
