Dual citizenship?

Hello all,
So I am an American citizen and my parents are currently debating on whether or not I should apply to receive a Thai identification card through my Grandmother. My question is that since it is technically a Thai ID I would be receiving not Thai citizenship, if I join the army or hopefully get into West Point, would I have to give up the ID? Thanks for the responses in advanced.
 
U.S. doesn't recognize it, and you cannot have duel citizenship and go to a service academy, so at some point you would have to renounce your Thai citizenship. I don't see any reason to do that yet though.
 
I would contact your Admissions Regional Commander. He will be able to give you direction concerning this. Good luck during the application process!
