EA II contact from CGA

Nothing yet. Checking email constantly, but the wait continues on. Its getting close; tomorrow is the last day. I'm super stressed, but whatever the decision is I know things will work out for the best. Good luck to all.

My son is still waiting, no news yet.

Has anyone else in the EAII pool heard back yet?

All Early Action Group Two decisions have been released, so notification letters are now available on the students' application homepage.

I have heard privately from a few of you who learned today that their DS/DD were wait listed and I wanted to offer a little encouragement to you.

While being Waitlisted was probably not what you had hoped for, it is by no means the "end of the road". It just means that you have to wait a little longer for the answer. Perhaps Objee can chime in on the stats but so many I've talked to from prior years that were wait listed ended up with good news down the road.

It must mean that the pool has grown so very competitive and that the Admissions Board isn't ready to pull the trigger on your DS/DD just yet. Perhaps waiting to see how the RA pool looks. Nonetheless, I believe being wait listed means that your DS/DD has proven themselves a viable candidate and for that you should be very proud. I know that wait must be agonizing for the candidate and the parents, but hang it there. For many, it will prove to be a wait worth waiting for. Bottom line...."It's not over until the........" (You know the rest).

For those of you receiving CGAS appointments, rejoice! That is great news! EVERYONE I've met/spoken with that went through CGAS absolutely loved the opportunity and it made them much more comfortable starting the 4/C year. Not to mention, the money made during the CGAS year is great (better than 4/C year)! Not many college kids can say they are paid to attend college. Without hesitation, my DS would have gladly accepted a CGAS appointment. It really is a great thing and a great opportunity.

For those of you who received news of non-acceptance recently, I am truly sorry. I can only imagine what that must be like. Many times through the process we wondered if our DS would be one of those getting the TWE for the schools he applied to. Know this... your DS/DS, merely by their desire to serve through application to a service academy shows character that few of their classmates posses. Focus not on this, but on the Plan-B. Whether that Plan is another service academy, or a civilian college, focus on that. If service through this route is still desired, there is always next year! I know of some who made it in the "second time around". One year in the grand scheme of things isn't very long.

The application process has been an incredible journey to watch our son go through, and I am sure all of you (parents and candidates) feel the same. People who have not gone through this simply cannot understand. It is so much different than regular college applications.

Good luck to all of you, Accepted, CGAS, Waitlisted and those who were turned down. The best really is yet to come!

We have checked the application homepage and don't see a decision either way. Application was completed on 10/13 but all the recommendations weren't completed until December.

Got a call from my AO today confirming my appointment, good luck to those still in the waiting!

I know this has been addressed in other places and that it varies from year to year but there doesn't seem to be any actual numbers available. How
many are on the waiting list and, last year, how many were actually offered an appointment? Thanks in advance!

Same for me

Dod/merb papers received 3 days ago... But no other contact

Not quite sure how to proceed, since there's been no contact from anyone (including baseball coach who contacted us last September). Guessing our son didn't get an appointment, though we'll wait to next week to confirm with Lt. Lopez. In Showbiz we call this the Hollywood No.

DS was found out he was wait listed last night. Not the news he was hoping for, but he's still hopeful of an appointment later on.

If you are wait listed do you have a shot at getting CGAS or are you now in a go, no go situation later on.

If it's the same as last year, wait list is strictly for direct appointments. CGAS has a separate wait list.

Thanks for reply. I guess what I was asking is if you get wait listed from EA2, is there the possibility that you would get offer CGAS later on?

DS is on the waitlist from EA1. As far as we understand, anyone on the appointment waitlist are not considered for CGAS. Long wait till May and hopefully good news then. Awaiting word from the NA too. At least no "senioritis" for him, has to keep charging hard for the call! All the best.

We are also waiting to hear from NA. DS was fortunate to get a principal and is 3Q, so we hope to hear back from them in the near future. Best of luck to you and your DS as well.

We have checked the application homepage and don't see a decision either way. Application was completed on 10/13 but all the recommendations weren't completed until December.

All required application items, not just the online application and essays, needed to be submitted by 11/15 for the applicant to be reviewed in Early Action Group Two. Applications completed after that date will be reviewed during Regular Admission with notification letters being released no later than 4/15.

I still have not received a decision. Anyone else?

You can contact your Admissions Officer on Monday, but no decision probably means you were not reviewed in Early Action Group Two.
