DD received her BFE today! She was in the EA2 group! Woo hoo! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Congratulations, where will she be going.
God Bless and God Speed,
Congratulations to you and your DD! What great news! We will continue waiting and hoping....
kMC, congratulations! What a releif, huh? It must be a very proud day at your house.
It was a WONDERFUL present for the New Year (if not Christmas).
We are amazed and still in disbelief. Yes, it's a big relief, but then with it comes new realizations...my 'baby girl' is going into the military! But we come from a military family. I know they will take great care of her.
(Sorry for all of the emoticons...there's a lot of emotions here!)
Well, at the moment, it looks like the Coast Guard Academy.
Congrats KMC -- Our house is now on stalking mode for the next week or two--We were part of the EA2 group as well.
Congratulations to your DD and family. It is a great honor to be chosen to serve in our great County.:jump1
Congrats! What an awesome way to start off the new year!
Would you mind sharing you stats (ACT/GPA/ etc.) with us? I wouldn't mind knowing, if it isn't too personal to ask...
SATs Math:710, Reading:770
ACT 31 composite
Top 5% of class
GPA 3.83 unweighted (as by my calculations...not really sure as our HS does things differently)
PFE was done at AIM, not sure of the exact score
Hope that is helpful. PM me if you'd like more info.
We didn't do a very good job of stalking. My husband got the mail that day, but we didn't find the BFE 'til hours later when he found it on the front porch. Evidently, the mail carrier decided since it was priority, it should be left at the door, but we always use the side door! Guess we shouldn't have ASSUMED it would be in the mailbox! Besides, we really weren't expecting anything during the holidays.
Best line of the year.
I almost fell over when I saw the question and definitely did when I read the answer.
Smoking! great scores, awsesome resume. Well deserved
KMC's daughter (whether she knows it or not) is a blue rated vocalist and that endorsement is just as powerful as a blue athletic rating. We have deferred quite a few applicants from EA to RA that had similar academic achievements, leadership potential, AIM experiences, etc. so it definitely was her musical and performing arts background (on top of all her other accomplishments) which ensured an EA appointment. I only share that insight to highlight that it's not all about athletics/varsity letters/PFE scores in our holistic review process and it will truly be a diverse group of 290 young men and women (plus up to eight International Cadets) who make up the Class of 2015 on June 27th. Congratulations on the well-deserved appointment and I hope she accepts!
Congratulations again KMC; truly a well deserved appointment
I concur. Congratulations!
Wow. Objee, thank you so much for posting this. No, we didn't know that she was a "blue rated vocalist" nor that it was as powerful as an athletic rating. We obviously knew we had the support from your vocal music department, but wasn't sure how much weight it would hold. I can't tell you how much we appreciate your information and kind words. My intentions certainly weren't to brag, only to put the info out that EA 2 appointments were coming. I read your post, along with the posts of others, to my daughter who is not on this message board and she was truly humbled. "People are so sweet!" she said. Thanks to you all of you! And good luck everyone! Hope to see you all on June 27th!
