Early Action Admission

Thank you for posting that. It doesnt make me feel better but it is nice to kno haha.

I just checked DODMERB site, and there is a change in his Admission Status Change Date: to Dec 3-the day of the Appointment. So, Maui is correct; a change is reported to DODMERB on the day of Appointment

Hi Maui1,
My sons status under USNA has a SubAgency Heading that reads NALOA, dated Oct 14. I believe that is around the time of the LOA from USNA. Does your son's USMA heading have a subagency space with the date of his LOA? Thanks

OK, I hope this helps ease some of the anxiety, but I fear it will only add to the angst as y'all check and doublecheck dates. But, being a compulsive individual myself, I feel your pain...The letter stating the app was complete was dated Nov. 13, the letter offering the appointment was dated Dec 3. The DODMERB site has been changed to Quailified since Nov 6. I hope this helps:smile:

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

my DODMERB was a disqualify on 10/17..
Then got a letter (dated10/22) from CGA stating they couldnt do a waiver until they received my completed application
Then my "your application is complete" letter is dated 10/27...

UGHHHHHH

DODMERB has said pending waiver... since 10/17

my son's DodMerb subagency also reads NALOA dated the same as his LOA...so I thin that is it

Thanx PMLutton; I hear he has the NROTC to VMI - congrats. I know he really prefers the Academy, so I wish y'all the best. Where is he at CGA-deferred to RA? The LOA should bode well, remember the squeky wheel gets the grease...

Well, a letter just arrived and son is not home from school so it is sitting on the counter (burning a hole)--Okay I looked at it in the light and it looks like a deferral...Oh well, kid will be disappointed, but hopefully things will work out in regular decision. I really want to read that letter to see what he needs to do next. I will update you guys.

was this letter priority like the appointments?

Wow, thanks for the reply. I have been watching my son's dates change very closely and am hoping there is a relationship there with the appointments, too! LOL....at least I hope. Our admission status date was dated Dec 3 also, one day after the medical was updated to Qualified which was Dec 2nd. So, because of your updates on the site I am hoping and checking the mail and calling home daily, too! We are out west so I am hoping we have the 8x10 in the mail this week.

pmluton, Hey, my son has applied and he meets with the commitee this Saturday. I was asking about your dates just incase the navy updated the site like the coast guard does and to see if there was any correlation or a way to connect the dots.... He applied at both. This past month he was invited to cadet day at the coast guard and he had a great time and he loved it.

Good Luck-it sounds like the Dec 3 date is the date of your Appointment to USCGA(Just speculating!). WE received the Priority mailer Sat Dec 6. Hope yours comes tomorrow! If not, then call them and tell them to send you another one, 'cause the first one is lost in the mail:thumb:

Actually my son only has the USNA LOA, it was a thin envelope from USNA, one page, that was all..

In CGA he is deferred to RA, so we send in end of semester transcript and wait some more...

you are better than I. Connecting the dots has been very difficult. All we have is a USCGA deferral to regular admission and a Letter of Assurance from USNA. Waiting, waiting, waiting...

Early Action

Waiting...waiting...my son's application status (on DoDMERB) changed on 12/3 but still nothing in the mail. I don't think the change means an appointment necessarily. It could mean either that or deferral. My other son (twin) has no status change even though both applications were completed on 10/17. Hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst at this point. Maybe tomorrow some word either way?

Also Oct 17 for letter stating application was complete.

But, no word here yet. So, this doesn't seem to be a reliable indicator for "rounds" unless acceptances out of rounds were sent off right away, but other decisions out of rounds were not.

Hmmmmmm.

Maybe tomorrow.

Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow...

the admissions department said they were going to review applications in a first come first serve basis. They were going to review EA and then send out ones that have been completed. I believe they are trying to get everything out before december 15 for EA

My son was invited yo USNA for Candidate Visit Weekend. Does anyone konow if USCGA offers similar program? Thanks.

They have a Beansprout program..

"Decisions / Actions : If you have been accepted, plan early to visit the Academy under the "Beansprout" program. Cadets host accepted students overnight each Thursday from mid-January to mid-April. "
