Early action deadline

I live in the northeast - nothing yet. May be just the order they processed them in - or after they notify MOC.
 
My DS just got a call from our Congressman that he has an appointment to USAFA! We live in the northeast, and he's not a recruited athlete.

People have tried to analyze the admissions process for YEARS. I will tell you right now that you will get nothing out of doing so, except maybe higher blood pressure and a headache.
I was a Falcon last year and didn't hear until February. In fact, it was unexpected that my appointment came so early. The year before I waited much longer for the very painful TWE and paced my house every minute of every hour as I'm sure all of you are doing now.
I know the idea of waiting sucks, but remember that it's better to be pleasantly surprised with something rather than to demand an answer only to get one you don't want. USAFA has never done EA before, so no one can tell you much about the process other than this: in recent years, almost ALL appointees waited until March. Don't be surprised or upset if this happens. USAFA can and will change their mind whenever they want. Don't harrass admissions. Don't stay up late drawing diagrams of what you think they are doing during the selection process. I didn't get it when I was a candidate for 2 years, don't get it now, and will probably never get it in the future. Save your energy for when (if you are selected) basic comes around... you're going to need it. Because that waiting process is a WHOLE LOT more painful. :shake:
 
Just found out I was deferred as well... :/

Time for some more waiting.

So much for the theory all deferrals were sent out already. Were these through the portal? I thought the portal only "sync'd" in the mornings?
 
Yep, through the portal. It just showed up in the past hour or so.
 
Sorry to be a pest - but did you get an email that you had mail in your portal mailbox?
 
No worries. :) Yeah, I got an email telling me I had a new message on my portal concerning my application.
 
Still haven't heard anything. Will be hanging in there with everyone else till next week.
 
I got a message today as well, deferred. Looks like the wait isn't over yet!

All of these posts are making me so nervous... My portal isn't showing anything... Congratulations to those who received an appointment or LOA! And for those who got deferred, remember that the fight isn't over yet!! :thumb:
