Does anyone know approximately how many applications will be considered for Early Action and of those eligible, how many (historically) will been offered appointment? I am also assuming the CGA advises each Early Action applicant whether they have been offered appointment or wether they will be differed?

    Thanks

Last year there were 772 Early Applications. Of those, 235 were offered appointments.

127 were full appointments and 108 were conditional appointments.

The stats of those appointed during EA:

    660 M 640 CR
    210 PFE
    Top 7% of HS rank
    3.88 average GPA

Every EA applicant will be advised of their status (appointment or deferral) before December 24th.

Conditional Appointments turn into Full Appointments once a certain "condition" is met.

That "condition" can be any number of things:

    • successfully passing the PFE,
    • obtaining DODMERB qualification,
    • meeting a weight standard,
    • completing the application,
    • maintaining good grades,
    • etc.

    Luigi,

Will you be able to tell us how many EA applications were received this year, perhaps in November after the deadline? If not, how soon will that information be available?

How likely are you to get an appointment if you have good SAT/ACT scores ( 30 ACT 1280 combined SAT) but High School Rank and GPA is way below last years accepted, will you still be considered for EA. Should you set up an interview?

How would a candidate be considered for EA if their application is not complete or PFE is not submitted?

Probably not in November, but based on Objee's posts from last year I expect those stats to be available after all EA appointments have been mailed in mid-December.

 You asked "What is a conditional appointment?" and now you are asking something different.

All of the "conditions" in a "conditional appointment" are not necessarily applicable to EA decisions. The most common conditional appointments would be those awaiting DODMERB qualification.

But....... this year, 46 Letters of Assurance (LOAs) were awarded to candidates who had not completed (or even started) their applications. LOA's are also known as Conditional Appointments.

I should have been more clear. I assumed you were referring to conditional appointments issued under EA. Two concepts got mixed up in the same thread.

    Thank you for the clarification
