Early Notification of Admission?

Of course DD is just glad to get rid of him anyway! She wants his loft bed! We have another senior DS too and she ( 11 yr old dd) will very depressed when he leaves. He is going to stay in state so he won't be so far away. It is a big year at our house!:zip:
 
Word of caution . . .

Don't assume that your MOC has received notice of the conditional LOA. We sent copies to our MOCs, but I just spoke to one office (they called to schedule an interview) and they said that they had not received the letter we sent. :confused: They also had not received notification from USMMA. :eek:
We sent everything else registered mail, but not the copies of the LOA. We assumed that our correspondence would merely duplicate notice from USMMA, so we didn't go to the extra effort to send by registered mail. Should've known better . . .
 
for the people that have received LOAs what have your scores been (SAT, GPA, ext.) ?

I posted this last week under another thread but thought I would share it here as well. Anyone else have a similar story?

Monday DS received a FedEx envelope from USMMA admissions. He had conditional appointment, nomination and had just turned in good fitness test results. So we were waiting for B "Fat" E. It came Fedex and it was Big, however it was also "Thin"! I stared at it all day waiting for DS to come home. He opened it,,,,,,,nice congrat.s letter but had a fill in the box reply form to accept his appointment to,,,,,,wait for it,,,,,NMMI Class of 2012, huh? We jumped in quickly with; Great, congrats, Roswell will be awesome,,,, it was a quiet dinner. Verified the next morning that, yes, it was a mistake. They resent a fill in the blank acceptance/decline form yesterday. It has been signed and faxed back. USMMA class of 2015.....a year from now he will probably wish he was at NMMI getting Calc under his belt! So, is the "F" for fat? We are going with "Frickin". Happy Thanksgiving!
 
DS received his FedEx yesterday -- I just sent in the fax accepting his appointment today! It's a great feeling! :biggrin::thumb:

I got my LOA early November, applied at the end of August. I never took the SAT seeing as I live in Colorado, but my ACT scores are as follows:
Math:27
Reading:28
Science:27
English:27

So... I'm not stellar by any means, but I have taken them multiple times, and am going in again in December to try again. My GPA is a 3.8. However, I don't believe that any of these things set me apart. I think it was between extracurricular activities and leadership roles ( Pres. NHS, Capt. Wrestling, Track). That combined with taking the hardest classes I can find. From what I've read the academies want to see that you're a well-rounded person, and that's what I look to do.

I'm still waiting on my NOM's, but am sitting on LOA's to USMMA and USAFA. I hope you the best of luck!

Congrats to all who are getting good news and my best wishes for peace of mind as well as peace on earth to all who are waiting! Was the envelope truly a B "Fat" E with lots of materials? As I posted above (#47) ours was thin and only contained two letters from admissions and the incorrect reply form (with return envelope). I just want to make sure we are not missing any instructions such as the logging in materials. Thanks!
 
How long did it take from the time your status changed until the fedex man shows up? What is in that first letter?

Strangley enough, after my online status went to conditional on mondy (DoDMerb next week) I've been checking the status page more. I love looking at that word "Conditonal" I never belived I'd be seeing that. Every time the dog barks, I crack the front door open to see if she was barking at the fedex man making a devlivery from KP!

KP 2015 here I come! wahooo!
 
Once DS's status changed to conditional I think it was about 4 days until we received a letter from admissions. But, it was through regular mail. The FedEx truck doesn't come until the "conditional" changes to "principal". But yes I have looked at the staus page many times just to enjoy it:thumb: hurray for your conditional status.
 
So, since I have nomination, I take it the school has deemed me qualified, all I'm waiting on in DoDmerb?

I guess the letter will tell me for sure, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some other big step....
 
Also is your PFA in? Once all is in, PFA, DODMERB, nomination, or anything else (?). Then comes staus change to principal and the FedEx truck. Our LOA (letter of assurance or conditional appointment staus) also stated continued excellence in school,,,,we did send DS's first trimester transcript in as well. The best report card he had ever received since the first grade I believe, lol. But leaving the school thing out there is kind of telling you they can pull it back if,,,,,,,,,,dramatic pause, if grades go down the drain of of course law trouble, stupid decision making etc. So, keep hold of yourself and good luck with the DODMERB. There can be snags there too, but many can be overcome. If that occurs you will no doubt find out who Larry Mullen is , he's kind of a big deal! (but for real)
 
CFA is a pass.

Grades are also better then they've ever been. I thought I was supposed to have senioritus.

I think a large part of it is that I could pick my own, engaging classes this year.
 
.....last thing, I promise.

Anyone have any idea how long it should take from exam (next friday 12/17) until I hear from KP? I know it has to go to Concorde then to DoDmerb, then to KP. Any ideas on a rough guess-ta-ment of when I should hear again from KP?
