My daughter is in the process of completing the DoDMERB paperwork and it has come to our attention that eczema/atopic dermatitis are grounds for disqualification. She has atopic dermatitis that is fairly mild and tends to occur in perspiration areas especially after sporting activities, i.e. under chin-guards or sports bras. An ointment prescribed by her Dr. completely controls her condition and it has never prevented her from participating in any activity.

Is there something we can do or some paperwork we can provide prior to a decision being made to alleviate the need to go through the waiver process?

And is it possible to obtain a waiver for this type of condition?

Thanks for any information you can give.

Our son received a disqualification for the same thing. Same symptoms, same treatments. Have been in contact with admissions and they advise to do nothing for now as each case is individually reviewed. We have heard waivers have been granted for this so we are optimistic.

Thanks for the info, it is just so stressful to get this far and think it was all for nothing because of a rash!
