Election Day

My district is connected to the rest of the district by a bridge! All around us, are conservative districts, but my little town is in a blue area, connected to the other blue areas, literally, by a bridge.

Politics: don't ever want to see that being processed - or sausage.

Taking odds now.

What is the President going to say at 2:50 this afternoon?

My bet is America has spoken and I look forward to working with the Hill.
~ Same BS we have heard for years, NOTHING NEW HERE TO SEE, keep walking along!

My real odds taking is what TIME do you think he will appear?

I am going with 3:13!

ANyone want to join the game? Place your time.

Tie breaker how often will he say the word CHANGE?
~ I say 5!
~~ I have a feeling that it will be more like a dozen, but I have HOPE it is not that high!

If he doesn't talk about failure at the federal level, lumping Republicans and Democrats in the same group.... if he doesn't skip right over how the results are a message about his policies.... I'll be surprised.

My guess, and I hope I'm wrong, he'll talk about how he's ready to work with Congress, and that he's ALWAYS been willing to work with Congress.... but that they have to give him something he can work with.... basically shifting blame.....

Because this is bad news, I would guess he's not going to talk about himself or use "I" or "me" much.... he saves that for good times.

What do I think he SHOULD say? He should talk about how they prepresent the will of the people, and their work should be to that end, that they have to rising about parties and work together after these results. He should say he got the message....

Time: 3:05

I don't have high hopes, but there's a chance it becomes alittle more real for him that he'll actually HAVE to work with Congress. This first speech will set that tone... so I hope he does a good job at it.

At the same time, Congress, under Republican leadership, will have to get things moving.... start small with things that aren't too polarizing..... and work from there.

LITS,

I have the same hope that those elected yesterday will start with small things that are not polarizing to constituents.

Tally for guesses
Pima 3:13
LITS 3:05

How many times the word CHANGE is said for tie breaker
Pima 5
LITS ?

Sorry LITS, but I believe he will say I/me a lot because the pundits started calling him a lame duck 2 or 3 months ago. I just can't see him saying the word we very often.
~ I feel he has an insane distaste for Republicans and it would be too much for him to swallow to say WE.

If his staff is smart he will say WE, because right now he knows in history he is the first to lose so many seats since WWII....

Working to end the Sequestration might be a good start. There was some rumblings back before the final stretch of the campaigns that they were going to re-visit the issue, I hope that continues.

If the Republicans want any hope in 2016 they need to start getting things done, if they don't, this new found confidence will slip away quickly. Being the big dog doesn't mean much if you don't have the bite to go with it.

Frankly I could care less who controls Congress at this point, I would just love to see some progress, any progress.

Oh, put me down for 3:20 and 7

I thought I said 5 minutes late.... I said 15!? NOOOOOOO could it really start THAT late?

McConnell spoke and it appears that he is saying under Reid's control of the Senate they failed. It appears he is not placing blame on Obama.

I hope he remembers this speech if he becomes the Senate leader.

Said it before and will say it again, this was in part due to Reid's inability to lead? 300 bills and none passed? Can we say twiddling thumbs?

He also stated that the President has already discussed trade reform and taxes with him that according to him they can agree upon currently.

I am not a McConnell fan, but when he said and kept saying that the most important Democrat they have to work with is the President gives me HOPE there will be a CHANGE.

I didn't hear "change" in the opening remarks. It started at 2:58 p.m. ET.

This has been disappointing. Amazing. He hasn't learned a thing.

I agree LITS. Nothing in this briefing says he is willing to play with Republicans.

I have actually been in the East Room when a President spoke to the group, President Nixon. Great speech and he was much shorter than I thought. Shook his hand . He worked with everyone. Also met with Doctor Kissinger another great man. They always played with the other side.

Obama reminds of a college professor, adorned by some students, hated by some, makes his own rules in class.

Also met with Doctor Kissinger another great man.

I could only understand about half of what he said, and I was way to young and nervous to ask him to repeat anything, so I just nodded a lot.

I was the only one to greet him as Doctor. He seemed to appreciate it with a smile and a laugh.

Q: Obama wants to work with Republicans... now? What about the last six years?
