if I email my regional admissions officer asking what's going on in my waiver process/if I'm getting a waiver, do they have any knowledge on that/are they allowed to tell me? Thanks!!

Our experience with the regional admissions officer is that they didn't offer a lot of insight or information. All they told us was, if you meet the other qualifications, you'll automatically be put into the waiver process.

No need to contact admissions.

From USNA Admissions website:
If you have a disqualifying condition, you will be automatically considered for a waiver if/when you receive a Conditional Offer of Appointment. You need not write to request a waiver, nor should you send additional medical information to the Naval Academy for review. A waiver of the medical standard may be granted if both your academic record and medical history suggest the risk introduced by the disqualifying condition is justified by your potential for success as a midshipman and as a naval officer.
