I just drop my little girl off for a week at NASS. I don't know how the rest of you felt when you drop off your son or daughter but the family missed her 5 minute after we left. She got about 15 text from her young sister and two brothers before we left the state. I know this isnt going to easy for me either big tuff dad will probably be crying like her mother. Maybe we can talk her into taking online college courses. LOL Well we will see after this week if this is what see wants. :frown:

LadderdaddyO, there's an old thread on CollegeConfidential.com/Service Academies called "uncool parent totally excited" w/ ideas for parents mooning over the departure of our little lambs. They range from getting a puppy or a fish (?) to my plan of building a file about hobbies, getaways, classes, etc for a year before our last one left.

My mid's entering his 2nd class year @ USNA now, and I STILL get sad when he leaves. It helps to jam my schedule for the first week or so after he leaves. Distractions help. Good luck.
