Mingram - it sounds to me like she had a great year! One of the most important parts of college is learning to navigate new surroundings and expectations. Sounds like she did a first rate job of that.
Also, as a nursing student, academics are the #1 priority. Dean's List both semesters? She had a successful year and should be proud of herself!

The transition from high school (home) to college was tougher for her than I expected she was homesick bad for the first six weeks which we didn’t expect. She made the Dean’s list both semesters but also made the first B of her life which appeared to bother her as bad as the homesickness. Coming from a small town school to a university it was the first time she was not the smartest kid in class and was sometimes the one holding up others while she asked one more question. But she is proud to wear the uniform and her Mom and I could not be prouder.
DD did not have quite the year as everyone else. She did manage to confirm that she does like her school and program and that she is willing to tolerate the bull (her words) at the unit to get to her final goal of being a Navy nurse. She struggled first semester with PT but was not on remedial the second semester and improved in all three areas that are graded. She is doing summer school and will end up graduating a semester early.
