I'm almost done with my application, but I havent started school yet and found out that I have my freshman English teacher for my senior year as well. Even though she already knows me but I have not had her for my senior year yet, is it okay to still get a recommendation from her?

USNA wants your 11th grade English teacher. If you believe that your current/9th grade teacher will add/cover something that your other two teachers (11th Eng and Math) haven't covered (which probably isn't likely), you can submit it as an extra rec.

Dont mean to steal the thread, but my junior year teacher for english moved and the school doesnt have any contact info for her, one of the assistant principals is trying. My sophomore english teacher will be my senior teacher can i have him submit it even before school starts or will i have to wait till school starts?

In these economic times it is no longer uncommon to see cuts in high school faculty and high school grade level teaching assignments do change from year to year. Contact your BGO who will contact the ACO (in most cases that I've encountered they counsel me to instruct the candidate to contact the LT at USNA). Go through the chain of command; they will take care of you.
Basically, if the teacher is no longer employed at your school and cannot be found there is nothing you or the school can do, it's out of your hands.

Agree. If the required recommender isn't available, USNA obvioulsy will let you substitute. However, check with Candidate Guidance regarding who they want you to substitute.

Where does it state that it has to be done by an 11th grade teacher? At the summer seminar briefs the admissions officer said either your 11th or 12th grade. The teacher that did mine was my sophomore instructor and he will be my teacher again this year for english. Does this mean that I will now have to redo my evaluation?

^^^^^Agreed. The application says, "Please provide an english teacher recommendation from your 11th or 12th grade year."

I was just concerned because they told us at summer seminar they did not want a sophomore teacher and since my sophomore will be my senior but i will be submitting the rec before i start senior year i did not want them to think i was submitting my sophomore year teacher.

The problem with your 12th grade teacher is that he/she won't have much to say for a couple of months until they get to know you as a student. For those who want to get their applications in early (Aug or Sep), they pretty much have to use their 11th grade teacher.

Everyone needs to remember that the teachers who are writing your recommendations need to really know you. These are not you run of the mill recs; you teachers are to speak on your behalf as to work ethic, leadership in the classroom, character, organizational skills, responsibility, etc.
They should not be reiterating your student resume and stating what a great guy or gal you are without backing it up with facts.
Unless you have had a teacher in earlier years there is no way that your 12th grade Math or English teacher could write a rec in such depth that would be meaningful.
Hope this helps out.
