Hi everyone! I am an MSIV EOC and of course with all of my classmates stressing out about their branches and AD I'm starting to stress out too. I've gotten mixed answers about accessions for EOCs and I was wondering if anybody could clear it up for me. Am I assessed based on my stuff (PT score, GPA, PMS eval) from my MSIII year or will everything I do as an MSIV count? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

As much as its not going to be what you want to hear, they go by last six semesters attended so your grades and APFT scores will count from MS IV year. This can either be a blessing or a curse depending on how bad your senioritis is..
But on the plus side, it is two more semesters to raise your GPA and improve your PT score.

Picked up on your thread. What is EOC? My son has transferred and is an MS III on scholarship for Engineering. He will be the first Engineer at his new school and consequently at his new Battalion. I don't think they know how to handle the 5th year cadet yet. We assumed he would go to LDAC this summer between MSIII and MS IV year. But don't know how the branching works for him. Reading between the lines it sounds like he gets put into the 2016 class? and his grades from 2nd, 3rd and 4th year count?

He should still do everything with his current class and go to LDAC between III and IV year. It is more than likely his CoC will not want to send him to be an End of Camp Commission, or EOC, where he goes to camp the summer after he completes his degree. However, your son should start talking with his cadre now and attempt to determine the situation for sure.

He will then become a completion cadet after his 4th year. His accessions packet should include the last six semesters for GPA so it will be sophomore, junior, and senior years. In practice, they just seem to take your cumulative so you can gain some extra time to raise that GPA (especially nice with the engineering degree)

They will also take APFT scores from IV year, so you must stay in shape. This can be more difficult than you think as you and all your peers are likely turning 21 and the temptation is definitely there.

As far as the responsibilities of the completion cadet, it is very BN dependent. Some BC's have their completion cadets work around the BN and act like an MS IV again, others (like mine:thumb:) do not require as much work and it is simply your responsibility to finish your degree while staying in shape.

I was EOC this summer, so I had a lot of the same questions going in. What happens is they take the AD cut of line from the CDTs that went last summer (now MS4s) and apply it to you. The nice thing is you can kind of know going into LDAC what your chances are based on what the scores of this current year's class are. Its the exact same OML everyone else gets except your PMS ranking which will be your ranking with the MS4 class not the class going to LDAC with you. He will insert you between two numbers so you will be a 5.5 instead of a 5 or a 6. He should do this ranking right before you leave for LDAC or when you come back. Like someone already said your GPA and PT will be for this year. Also remember that they actually take 3 GPAs (your overall, your ROTC, and the last quarter before you go to LDAC) and combine them to get the OML GPA. So if you can take easy classes and get a 4.0 that last quarter.

A few other things on EOC. You will need to bring ASUs with you to LDAC and they will inspect you about 5 times in them when you're there. So make sure to buy them about 3 months before you go and have them all ready. If you're female you can wear the skirt. You will need to bring a gold bar and a silver dollar with you. You can choose who gives you your first salute but they will ask you about five times at LDAC who it is, so make sure you coordinate with that person beforehand and let them know they need to be in ACUs with a black beret or they can't do it.

Your accessions paperwork is due in august, so you will have to fill that out right when you come back. You will find out if you get AD or reserves around sept 5th and most people go to BOLC between Oct and Jan, so just know you'll have a couple months sitting around being unemployed once you get back.

If you have any questions about EOC between now and then, feel free to PM me.
