If the directions for the essay stipulates 300 words, are they asking for a 300 word maximum or minimum?

I really don't want to over kill/under kill it

I'm positive that the directions for the essay doesn't stipulate ONLY the words "300 Words". I'm sure that is says something more than that. Do what the instructions say.

You are in the nominations section of the forum, so I have to assume that you are talking about the essay that your MOC is requiring of you; not the academy application. If you can't tell by the "Context" of the "Complete Sentence" what is meant by the "300 words", then I suggest you contact your senator and representative's office who is asking for this essay to clarify. If it is in the academy application, then you are asking the question in the wrong section of this forum. If that's the case, then again, I'm positive there are MORE WORDS in the instructions than just "300 words". It probably say's "No More" or "At Least". Again; if it is your MOC's nomination that you are asking about, and it doesn't stipulate "At least" or "No more than" or "Approximately" or so other words, and you are still confused, then call your MOC's office. We are not in your state and we don't know what YOUR MOC wants. There are 435 representatives and 100 senators. Each of them have their OWN UNIQUE requirements. We don't know what that is. Sorry.
