Does West Point (or any other service academy for that matter) use the Common Application? Or are their essays solely based on what you submit in the personal statements etc...

Yes, lots and lots of essays! One the high side my new cadet recycled one of his SA essays when completing the common app for his plan B schools.

How did he do that when the essays are so specific towards West Point? Or was it another SA he applied to?

Sorry, I have been off the forums for a bit. I honestly don't remember exactly how it worked, but one of the USMA essays was a bit more generalized and he just adapted it a little bit. Good L:uck!
