Europe - iMac

Take it easy there Chockstock! You're talking to people who have many more years of working with computers than you. My husband and I switched to Mac because of constant frustrations with our PCs. I won't force you to listen to our complaints. Just accept that it was the cumulative effect of years of issues, literally. Yes, I like the style of my Macs. But they run beautifully, do video and other things more easily, and there's a whole lot less cussing and fussing around here when something needs to be done with the machines.

I can run any windows application because I can run Windows on my machines. In fact, one of the PC computing magazines reviewed laptops not long ago and chose a MacBook Pro (I think) as the best Windows machine! Plus with Microsoft Office for Mac, you'll never know that Word document came from a Mac and not a PC.

Anyway, my point is that you have a tendency to come across as very critical of people who disagree with you, people who have a lot more life experience than you. Last I checked, I'm old enough to be your mother.

Er, I hope I didnt come off as critical as you say I was...certainly didnt mean to..its a rather not nice tendency at our school to bash Macs and Mac users but my apologies if I sounded too sharp .

Well, I'm not going to make a ludicrous statement that I have more experience with electronics than adults  wouldnt make sense of course...but I've been fortunate enough to own a PC since middle school. I got a Dell about 4 years back (gave my old Toshiba a knuckle sandwich...didnt work out so well) and owned it ever since. Suffered very few troubles with either laptop. A close friend owns a Mac and it hasnt been long, but Ive tinkered around with it for school related work, so Ive offered my (hopefully) impartial judgment of the two. And to me, Steve Jobs made the inferior product!

But I definitely understand where you're coming from. Ill guess that the work you or your family do on computers is a different sort from an average high school powerpoint, so I can see that it might not be the best fit :)

Sorry again if I came off as rude...I know its a nasty habit of mine to argue (I love getting angry), but dont get the wrong idea of me!

I do a lot of work on the computers. We had two Macs and then made the move away from MAC because it wasn't compatible with the programs my kids were using in our school system. (Like you, they've been lucky enough to have a computer but since they were in elementary school.)

We now have another MAC, an HP desktop, 2 dell laptops, a Sony Vaio and another laptop in the house and I can say that without a doubt the MAC is the top computer in the house. (My daughter also has a Sony laptop up in college as her Dell lasted two years prior to us having issues.)

That's my personal opinion. But my MAC and my iphone blow most anything else that I've tried out of the water.
My girlfriend is a software rep for IBM. She's also worked for HP and Dell. she just bought her daughter a new laptop for Christmas and.... it was a Mac!

On a side note, you say you love getting angry. If you go to West Point, you need to move away from that so your years there go very smoothy!
