Explain Please

In lieu of names or writing out their titles, DS = dear/darling son, DD = dear/darling daughter, DH = dear/darling husband, etc.
 
I only knew because they use DS/DD on the scrapbooking sites that my wife frequents. Sometimes they're not so D, so I propose that we use dS / dD to show that we still love them but they're currently not so dear. Heh.
