Just putting out my first CFA scores for kids to know what would be a fail. Chugged a monster before hand thinking it would give me a caffeine boost and cramped up in the second lap of the mile. Rescheduled to take again already, Ill be fine I know my mile time on a track is 7:30ish.

Event: MY SCORE AVG SCORE
BB Throw: 65 ft 67ft
Pull Ups: 12 9
Shuttle: 8.6 9.1
Sit Ups: 76 72
Push Ups: 65 54
Mile: 9:01 6:43

Wow. Your scores look better than many who have posted as passes, except mile.

Biggest tip that I can give regarding your monster scenario (I run a lot) is to not drink any other liquid other than water until afterwards. Before any sort of workout, barring you are not already exhausted, you should only drink water, and a lot of it. Don't drink a lot before however, give yourself like a 30-45 min gap between drinking and exercise and only drink in tiny sips if you have to during it. Especially with running you do not want to be full of liquid as it will bounce around or even give you chest cramps. Long story short: drink water.

Something else may have failed you, I ran quite a bit slower than a 7:45 when I took the CFA, and I got in last year. Unless the standards changed, a 7:45 is not failing.
That is correct. It is possible to fail one specific test which leads to you failing the entire test, or it's possible to score low cumulatively and as a result not make the cut off.

I know definitely the mile failed me, I was expecting it too. But wasnt sure if the other events would "pull me up." Ill be fine though, because I know my real mile time. Monster was so stupid on my part.

I would practice taking the entire CFA over and over again. While you may be able to run a mile in the required time when fresh, you may not be able to do so after you've done a max set of pull ups, push ups and sit ups. When I took the CFA my mile time was nearly 2 minutes slower than my normal mile time.

+1
The CFA is designed to be taken in sequence so that the "load factor" contributes to fatigue. The key lesson is to practice the CFA in sequence!

How do you know if you passed or failed? When I submitted mine all I got was a green check mark next to the CFA box indicating that it was submitted. Not that I'm in any danger of failing it.

I was told a green check mark means you passed... You may want to confirm that though

Sigh. Better living through chemistry...

Or try caffeinated gum, like Run Gum (google it). It ain't cheap but it will give you a nice boost without doing anything to your stomach. I use it before every competition.

I got confirmation that I passed the CFA with the following scores:

BB Throw: 57 ft
Pull Ups: 18
Shuttle: 8.7
Sit Ups: 70
Push Ups: 75
Mile: 7:24 min

For USMA: My DD, past and we were told by our MALO that it is a pass or fail exam and not the better you do the more points you get...does that sound right? She did tell her she past and has a green check mark.

According to the above posts, 7:45 Passed last year and 7:45 Failed this year.
In a separate post, ruizhernandez3224 had an 8:09 mile, so far he has not been told to retest.

I was told the exact opposite by my RC and FFR; there is a pass/fail benchmark, but the more points you get on the CFA the more points you get on your WCS. The Naval Academy, I know, is simple pass fail. Beat Navy!

Yep, spoke with her RC and yes, you can get more pts, but he then told me she did great and for her just to try and increase her score more on her SAT/math, which she takes tomorrow. He also said if she decides she does want to do the CFA again she would need to have it video taped and submitted.
