FALANT Remedials

Just a quick question because we are learning as we go. My son failed the PIP color test but was noted to have the ability to distinguish vivid red/green. Since he is applying for USCGA he must pass the Falant to be accepted. In this case, is a remedial almost a guaranty? And will the remedial come with instructions on where to get the test performed?

Thanks in advance for any info.

My DS also failed the PIP color test and got a remedial to take the FALANT test. The notification will have all the instructions, including a form that the administrator of the test will need to fill out and sign. You then fax the completed form back to DODMerb.

My son had to go to Luke Air Force Base (closest military base) to take the FALANT test. None of the private eye doctors had the instrument to administer the test.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the replies. My DS (hey I'm getting the lingo down) started a small freak out yesterday when DoDMerb finally posted "Does not meet medical standards" instead of something like "remedial requested" which he was thinking he would see. Went over the flow chart on the DoDMerb site and showed him these responses and convinced him that he should be getting the remedial in the mail.
