Father retired military (presidential nomination)

My DD was one of three in her school as well. They are actually all friends. My DD with a Presidential, father and grandfather each served 20 plus enlisted, received appointments. Second person, also with a presidential, father a retired officer, has not received any. Third, not eligible for a Presidential, received appointments as well. As stated above, there are many variables. My DS also applied and was accepted to 2 honors colleges and received an AFROTC scholarship. It sounds like a lot of work and it is, but cover the bases and advise your DS to apply to other choices as well. We were smartly advised that the position you want to be in is the one where you have several good options to choose from when the time comes. I hope the most important thing that comes across from these posts is to encourage your DS to do the very best that he can. Prepare his records and self to portray the best version of him as the rest is out of his control. Best wishes to your DS's success.

I appreciate you and the time you take to share! Very good and important information. As a parent I am stressed and busy trying to educate myself so I can give him good advice but am careful not to push. I learned along the way how important it is "he" wants this and not me. But that said, being able to get guidance quietly from someone like you is key. Thank you!
