Fax down at NEX

    if you faxed orders in the last 6 weeks to NEX check to make sure they have your order. Apparently the fax has been down and due to a strike it was not repaired.

    So they will let a Fax machine go unrepaired for six weeks as opposed to spending $100 on a new one? Or here's a crazy idea ... NEX joins the 21st century and use e-freakin-mail!!!

    The strike is by Verizon workers, so the issue is a telecommunications issue, not a "let's just plug in a new fax machine" issue.

    They do use email. Lane.Weissman@nexweb.org, or call the Navy Exchange USMMA Midshipman Store at 516-726-6177, to order.

    I sent my order via telegraph, hopefully their Morse code reader doesn't work for Verizon.

    Sorry, telegraph station has been removed to allow for the GMDSS installation.

    Too bad Navy Signalman rating was eliminated in 2003...the demise of the Skivvy-Wavers. Vis Comms duties now performed by other ratings.

    2020 parents- If you have faxed a copy of your Plebe candidate order form for items from the NEX anytime in the last 6 weeks, please call or email to confirm that Lane has received your order. There has been an issue with the receipt of faxes and you order may not have gone through to Lane. He can be reached at 516-726-6177 or Lane.Weissman@nexweb.org.
