We are going to sit down over Christmas breaks and discuss the future. Last I asked him he was still wanting to try for active duty after he gets his degree in a couple of years (ECP cadet).
If he stays in state after graduating this year from a MJC everything is paid for thru state TA and his Ike Skelton scholarship and he can try for active duty.
However his girlfriend is attending the Air Force academy next year so now Colorado has come into play. It is my understanding the only benefit he will get from their guard is in state tuition prices. He will still have his Ike Skelton money that will cover tuition but he will need to come up with living expenses.
To me it's a no brainer. But my hormones are not involved.
I think common since will win out but getting to that point might be a little rough.
